Trojans, keyloggers, and Rootkits, have been around for sometime, programs such as these are used exclusively to locate, steal, and then transmit personal information back to its home server, often resulting in identity theft and financial ruin.

Rootkits for example employ File hiding techniques that are becoming popular among monitoring software. These programs present a major challenge to the Information Technology sector, not to mention millions of home users. The ability to locate and remove Rootkits pose a significant challenge for all concerned.

The detection and removal of Rootkits is especially tricky, as these programs are typically invisible to Antivirus and Anti-spyware programs.

These programs are generally created and deployed by Black Hat Hackers, or more appropriately stated, Crackers. Individuals such as these attempt gain control, attack, and/or ferret out information from our computers, not to be confused with White Hat Hackers.

 Malicious code is typically installed on a machine without the owner's knowledge, usually via a virus or other nasty means of infection. As the rules continue to change, we must be as proactive and aware as technology permits. Without tried and true Anti-Virus Software and top-notch Anti-Spyware Software,
